How do I make copies with my Brother machine?

If you want to make a single copy, go to MAKING A SINGLE COPY.

If you want to make multiple copies, go to MAKING MULTIPLE COPIES.

To make a single copy, follow these steps:

1. Press the COPY key.

2. Do one of the following:

- To copy using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), follow these steps:

a. Unfold the ADF Document Support (1) and the ADF Document Support Flap (2).

NOTE: Do not use the ADF Document Support Flap for Legal size paper.

b. If you are copying multiple documents, fan the pages well.

c. Place the document(s) you want to copy into the ADF face down, top edge first until you feel it touch the roller.

NOTE: After you put your document(s) in the ADF, the Brother machine's LCD should display 'ADF Ready' for a few seconds and then display the copy options.

d. Adjust the paper guides (1) to fit the width of your document.

- To copy using the flat scanner glass, follow these steps:

a. Lift the document cover.

b. Place the document you want to copy face down on the flat scanner glass.

- Use the document guide lines in the upper-left corner of the flat scanner glass to help you position your document.

c. Close the document cover.

- If you are scanning a book or thick document, do not slam or press on the document cover.

- Press the gray key labeled BLACK START on the Brother machine to make a black and white copy.

- Press the green key labeled COLOR START on the Brother machine to make a color copy.

MAKING MULTIPLE COPIES

Your Brother machine can make up to 99 copies at one time. To make multiple copies, follow these steps.

1. Press the COPY key.

2. Do one of the following:

- To copy using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), follow these steps:

a. Unfold the ADF Document Support (1) and the ADF Document Output Support Flap (2).

b. If you are copying multiple documents, fan the pages well.
